The objective of this study was to determine the effects on postprandial glycemia of a commercially produced canned high fiber diet in dogs with naturally occurring diabetes mellitus. It cannot be assumed that complex carbohydrate and fiber will have the same effect if included in a canning process or that digestive function will be the same between naturally occurring and experimentally induced diabetic dogs.
