Fiber but not conjugated linoleic acid influences adiposity in dogs.

This study evaluated the role of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in the treatment of canine obesity. Obese dogs received a high fiber diet (HFD) with or without CLA or a low fiber diet (LFD). Calorie intake, body weight and body fat were reduced in the dogs feed a HFD, while LFD caused an increase in calorie intake and body fat. The addition of CLA did not affect any of the measured parameters.
